About Saint Oscar Romero Ministries
A Community of Refuge and Welcome in Christ
Saint Oscar Romero Ministries exists to be a place of refuge for the people of God — offering compassionate outreach, reverent liturgical worship, and sacramental care to all who seek hope, healing, and belonging in Jesus Christ.
Located in St. Charles County, Missouri, our ministry serves those who desire a catholic and sacramental expression of Christianity rooted in Scripture, historic liturgy, and pastoral compassion. We especially welcome those who have felt spiritually displaced, wounded by church experiences, or unsure where they belong.
At the heart of our life together is worship shaped by the proclamation of the Word of God and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. In the Eucharist we encounter the living Christ, who gathers us, nourishes us, and sends us into the world as instruments of His peace.
Our pastoral care extends beyond Sunday worship. We provide sacramental ministry, prayer, spiritual conversation, and home liturgies for individuals and families seeking to grow in faith and community.
Our Spiritual Heritage
Saint Oscar Romero Ministries stands within the broad catholic tradition of Christianity. We draw theological and historical inspiration from the Old Catholic movement and from the wider Independent Sacramental Movement — streams of catholic life that emphasize apostolic continuity, sacramental worship, episcopal leadership, and the primacy of conscience.
While we are inspired by the history and theology of the Old Catholic Churches, it is important to state clearly that we are not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church, nor with the Old Catholic Churches of the Union of Utrecht.
We are an independent sacramental ministry. Our catholic identity is rooted not in institutional control, but in faithfulness to the Gospel, reverent celebration of the Sacraments, and continuity with the historic Christian tradition.
We believe catholic faith is larger than any single jurisdiction. It is a living inheritance entrusted to the whole people of God.
Our Mission
We seek to:
Why Saint Oscar Romero?
